Now you want to get rid of all the photos of Jane from the Family folder but there is no way to say "delete from "Family" folder”. You have a ton of photos saved in Family and then you created Jane. Let's say you have a folder named Family and inside you have a folder named Jane.

I paid for the pro version hoping this would be a paid option but it is not! It does a good job finding the duplicates and it will show you which folder each one is in but there is no way to chose which folder you want to delete and which to keep.

And I found that the ‘deleted’ pictures are not really deleted since they end up in the Photos application “Recently Deleted” trash can under “Library”. So far, I haven’t needed to restore anything. Just because I am a belt and suspenders type guy. I did export the Duplicate Marked Photo’s to an external drive before deleting them from the Photo’s library. The app worked for me as advertised and I didn’t need to hit the extra keys that were referenced in several other reviews. I used this app on a 2015 vintage macbook pro using High Sierra. Overall a great product with room for improvement. It didn't answer my questions specifically, but offered canned answers to some questions and skipped the rest.
It seems like it was operated by a bot, although it denied this was true. A final word, the customer service Chat feature is worthless. Even with 5,700 photos, it didn't take that long. However, once the photos were in the Duplicate Marked Photos folder, it was easy to scroll through and find the hearts, and then move them out of the folder. Also, it doesn't discriminate "favorites," and the "hearts" on favorite photos didn't show up in the comparison screen. I didn't, but I was so overwhelmed by the quantity of pictures, I rarely ever looked at them, so I was ok with that. The only think to be wary of, is that close matches are counted as duplicates, so I recommend adjusting the automatic settings to the higher end of the spectrum if this is a concern for you. I was able to eliminate 5,700 duplicates.
The Photos/cloud combo is a menace which dumps multiple duplicate photos on all my devices.
